Do You Want to Build a Snowman?

If you haven’t seen the hit animated Disney movie Frozen yet you might want to rent it on your media device. I’m a particular fan of the snowman who comes to life, Olaf. If you’re familiar at all with animated Disney films you know characters are bound to break out in song and dance at some point. In Olaf’s case I’m fond of one specific line, which is the impetus for this blog post; he sings, “Winter’s a good time to stay in and cuddle, but put me in summer and I’ll be a…[as he pauses in front of a puddle]…happy snowman!”

Max the Snowman with Josh and LaurenAs a citizen of San Diego, I know what Olaf is talking about; put me in summer and I’ll be happy! It was 10 degrees below zero this week; that’s cold. Yet, I’m also a citizen of The Maxwell School, and I shouldn’t just stay inside all winter and cuddle. Winter is a great time to embrace the outdoor activities Syracuse has to offer. So today we went sledding and built a snowman. Please allow me to introduce you to Max the Snowman; he lives in front of Eggers Hall behind Abe Lincoln so feel free to say hi if you see him.

Next on our list of things to do this winter: cross country skiing.
